Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for the northern and eastern states of the country. Along with rainfall, several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, are also expected to witness thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. The residents of these states are likely to get much-needed relief from the scorching heat due to the fresh downpour.
Rain Likely In Delhi-NCR
As per the weather department, Delhi and the nearby cities are expected to witness rain and dust storms for the full day on Wednesday, providing relief to Delhiites. It stated that moderate storms, along with lightning and rainfall, are expected in some regions of Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Hapur. While the maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to be calculated at 34 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 29 degrees Celsius.
Rain Creates Havoc In Mumbai
The weather department has also issued yellow and orange alerts for rain in Andheri, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, and several parts of Mumbai. The continuous rainfall in Mumbai has caused waterlogging in several key regions, leading to inconveniences for daily commuters. The capital city of Maharashtra is expected to witness more rainfall for the next few days, the IMD stated.
IMD Issues Rain Alert For UP, Bihar
The weather department has issued warnings of thunderstorms and heavy rains in the western and eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh due to a surge in the monsoon activities. Apart from this, the northwestern districts of Bihar are also set to experience heavy rainfall for the next few days. The administration of these regions has been advised to take precautionary steps to ensure safety.
According to the weather experts, there will be a sharp drop of 4 to 5 degrees Celsius in the temperature across North India due to the continuous rain. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid inconveniences.
