Weather News: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert, indicating heavy rainfall expected today in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Over the next five days, the IMD predicts widespread light to moderate rain in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Additionally, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan can expect scattered fairly widespread rainfall, while Punjab, Haryana and Delhi will see scattered rain.
Heavy Rain Next Few Days in J&K, Delhi, HP and Uttarakhand
Heavy rainfall is anticipated in Jammu and Kashmir for the next two days, continuing in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand until August 20. In Delhi, significant rain is forecast for August 20, with light rain continuing until August 23 under a generally cloudy sky. Temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of around 36 degrees Celsius and a minimum of approximately 27 degrees Celsius. Additionally, Uttar Pradesh can expect heavy downpours until August 22.
Rain Forecast for MP, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa and Chhattisgarh
In west and central India, the IMD’s latest update highlights a likelihood of fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Konkan & Goa, and Chhattisgarh. Scattered to fairly widespread rain is also forecast for the Gujarat Region and Marathwada, while isolated rain is expected over Madhya Maharashtra and Saurashtra & Kutch this week.
Heavy Rain Till August 22 in Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Sikkim
East and northeast India are also set for considerable rainfall, with heavy precipitation predicted in West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya between August 20 and 22. Meanwhile, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha can expect heavy rains until August 20, and states in the northeast will see rain until August 22.
Rainfall Forecast In TN, Karnataka, Lakshadeep
In south peninsular India, isolated heavy rainfall is forecast in Tamil Nadu on August 18, Lakshadweep until August 20, and Karnataka over the next two days.
