Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday said that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in Mumbai over the next four to five days. Intense downpours continue to lash the city and an 'orange' alert has been issued for the Konkan region.
Mumbai recorded 93 mm of rainfall over the past 24 hours between Saturday and Sunday morning. The city recorded 100 mm of rainfall for the three consecutive days.
A "yellow alert" has been issued by the weather service specifically for Mumbai city for the next three days, and heavy rainfall still continues in certain areas.
The Shahaji Nagar Municipal School in Trombay reported 155.6 mm of rain between 8 AM and 3 PM on Sunday, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). This was followed by the 'N' Division office (151.1 mm), Nutan Vidyamandir, Mankhurd (149.6 mm), and Adarsh Nagar, Worli (129.2 mm).

Weather In North India
Over the next five days, the agency has expected scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall in East Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh, along with thunderstorms and lightning. The IMD has predicted severe to extremely heavy rains along with thunderstorms and lightning for Himachal Pradesh on Monday and Tuesday.
Rainfall is expected in the following districts: Hamirpur (Sujanpur Tihra, Hamirpur), Bilaspur (Swarghat, Bilaspur), Chamba Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur, Kullu, Mandi (Sarkaghat, Dharmpur, Slapper, Kotli, Mandi, Sundernagar), and Kangra (Dharmsala, Jaisingpur).
Meanwhile, a cyclonic depression over the Bay of Bengal is causing severe rain in various districts of Odisha. In the Malkangiri district, rainfall has affected 1,045 villages under 111 panchayats, affecting about 7,300 people. According to the IMD forecast, the depression is expected to pass Chhattisgarh in a north-westerly direction and gradually deteriorate into a low-pressure region over the next 12 hours.
