Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light showers today in Delhi, with the mercury expected to hover around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius for the maximum and minimum temperatures, respectively. Meanwhile, the situation is particularly dire in the mountainous state of Himachal Pradesh, where the IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for August 3 and 4.
Weather Update: Heavy Rain To Hit Himachal
Except Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur and Sirmaur districts, the rest of Himachal is likely to experience torrential rain and thunderstorms on August 3 and 4, with a similar warning in place for August 7 and 8. As a result, 115 roads have been closed, 225 transformers have been damaged and 106 drinking water schemes have been affected in the state.

Weather News: Rajasthan Weather
Additionally, Rajasthan is also bracing for a prolonged spell of heavy rainfall. The weather agency has predicted heavy showers in the state for the next week, as a new low-pressure area forms over Jharkhand. The Kota and Udaipur districts are expected to bear the brunt of the intensified monsoon activity on August 3 and 4.
Maharashtra Weather
The Regional Meteorological Centre in Maharashtra has issued a red alert for Pune and Satara. An orange alert, indicating very heavy rains, has been issued for Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg. Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Nasik, and Kolhapur.
Karnataka Weather
Meanwhile, in Karnataka very heavy rainfall is forecasted for Coastal Karnataka from August 2 to 7, North Interior Karnataka on August 2 and 3 and South Interior Karnataka on August 3 and 4.
