Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday stated that the cold wave in Delhi-NCR and nearby states has reduced the temperature in the last few days. The weather department stated that the recent change in weather is due to the fresh spell of rain and snowfall in hilly regions of the country.
It further informed that while the residents of these states will experience similar weather conditions on Thursday, the temperature is likely to increase on Friday. The IMD stated that several districts of Uttar Pradesh have experienced a minor dip in the temperature in the last two to three weeks.

The cold wave of 25 to 35 km/h has reduced the temperature in the early hours of the day. While the maximum temperature in the state was measured at 25 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature was recorded at 11.8 degrees Celsius.
The weather department stated that the temperature, especially in the early hours of the day, is likely to dip in many districts due to the recent change in the weather. While providing details, it stated that the cold wave will have its effect mostly on Aligarh, Agra, Meerut, and Mathura. The IMD urged the residents to limit their outings in the early hours of the day and take other precautionary measures.

Apart from this, the weather department stated that a western disturbance has led to the fresh spell of snowfall in the hilly regions of the country. It stated that the states like Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir are receiving snowfall in bits and pieces, adding that these regions will experience similar weather conditions in the upcoming few days.
While the cold wave has reduced the temperature in several regions of Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu is expected to witness a rise in temperature in the upcoming days.
