Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for heatwaves and high humidity across various regions of the country, warning of hot weather and warm nights in multiple states.

IMD Heatwave Forecast for April 14 and 15

According to the latest IMD forecast, West Rajasthan is likely to experience heatwave conditions at isolated locations on April 14 and 15. From April 16 to 18, severe heatwave conditions are expected in some parts of the region.

IMD Weather Forecast: Heatwave Alert for Delhi, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh

Gujarat may face heatwave conditions at isolated places between April 15 and 17. Additionally, heatwaves are likely in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh from April 16 to 18, with severe conditions anticipated in parts of East Rajasthan on April 18. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related health risks.

IMD Rainfall Forecast

Upper air cyclonic circulations over northeast Assam and northern Bangladesh, along with a trough extending from central Assam to the Westcentral Bay of Bengal at lower atmospheric levels, are expected to influence weather in the coming days.

The IMD forecasts scattered to widespread light to moderate rainfall in the northeast and eastern parts of India over the next week, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds of 40–50 km/h.

Central India and Maharashtra are likely to witness isolated to scattered rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds from April 12 to 14.

Heavy Rainfall Warnings

The India Meteorological Department has issued heavy rainfall alerts for multiple states. Arunachal Pradesh is likely to witness heavy showers on April 13 and 14. Meanwhile, Assam and Meghalaya are expected to receive intense rainfall between April 12 and 14, while Odisha may experience similar conditions on April 14 and 15.

Isolated hailstorms are also expected in Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh on April 12, and in Jharkhand on April 15.

Rain Likely in Kerala, Maharashtra

In South India, Kerala and Maharashtra are expected to receive scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds (30–40 km/h) over the next five days.

Rain Likely in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana

Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Telangana, Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema are likely to witness isolated to scattered rain with thunderstorms.
