Weather Update: In a fresh advisory, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in 19 states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar. Along with rain, these states are also set to receive thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds for the next few days. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid inconveniences.
Delhi-NCR Weather
In its advisory, the weather department stated that light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is expected in Delhi and nearby cities, including Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad, for the next two days. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 34 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 26 degrees Celsius. The IMD further stated that the sky will remain cloudy throughout the day.
Red Alert In Gujarat
The IMD has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in multiple regions of Gujarat, including Ahmedabad, Narmada, Surat, and Vadodara. In its advisory, the weather department stated that rainfall of up to 8 inches is forecast for Ahmedabad and up to 12 inches for Narmada. The heavy rainfall is likely to lead to a flood-like situation in multiple regions, leading to inconveniences.

Rain Likely In These States
As per the advisory, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in eastern parts of Rajasthan, and the monsoon will remain active in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Udaipur, and Kota divisions. Apart from these areas, several districts of Bihar will also continue to witness moderate to heavy rainfall at least till August 5.
The weather department stated that light to moderate rain is likely over Northeast India, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Lakshadweep, Northwest Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and parts of Punjab and Haryana during the next 24 hours.
