Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that the temperature in several northern states, including Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Haryana, is likely to significantly drop in the upcoming days. The weather department further stated that several western and southern states are also set to witness moderate to heavy rainfall for the next few days. Apart from this, the coastal regions are also set to experience strong surface winds and thunderstorms. The IMD further stated that several regions of the hilly states are likely to witness snowfall and light rain in the upcoming days. It also advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
The air quality in Delhi and nearby cities continued to remain in the 'very poor' category on Saturday, leading to lower visibility and respiratory diseases. The Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital was calculated at 352; however, the air quality also remained 'hazardous' in the industrial areas. The weather department stated that the temperature of Delhi is likely to significantly drop in the upcoming days. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 28 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 12 degrees Celsius.

The weather department stated that several southern states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. It further stated that the continuous rainfall is likely to lead to situations like waterlogging and power outages, which will lead to inconveniences. The coastal regions are likely to witness very heavy rainfall, leading to flood-like situations in the lower regions. The IMD has advised the fishermen to follow the guidelines and maintain a distance from the water bodies.
The IMD stated that the temperature in several northern states is likely to drop, adding that the hilly regions, including Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, are likely to witness snowfall.
