Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that several states are likely to receive rainfall in the upcoming few days. The weather department informed that along with rainfall, these states will also witness thunderstorms and gusty winds till June 3. It added that the rainfall is likely to reduce the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, providing major relief from the scorching heat. The weather department also advised the residents of the coastal region to limit their outings and follow the guidelines to avoid any inconveniences.
The weather department stated that Delhi-NCR and parts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive light rain till June 3, providing relief from heat. Earlier on Friday, the IMD stated that heavy rain is expected in Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh in the upcoming few days. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the government is prepared to face any emergency, further advising the residents to follow the guidelines to avoid inconveniences. Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya are receiving heavy rains for the past few days, leading to several issues such as waterlogging and power outages.
The weather department stated that multiple districts of Bihar are expected to receive rainfall till June 3. The IMD said that the rainfall will reduce the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, providing relief to the residents of these districts from the scorching heat. It further stated that several districts, including Araria, Kishanganj, and Purnia, are expected to witness heavy rain along with gusty winds and thunderstorms.
Apart from this, the meteorological department issued Yellow alert for multiple districts of Kerala, including Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Ernakulam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kottayam, Malappuram, Palakkad, Thrissur, Kollam, and Thiruvananthapuram. The weather department also stated that parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are also likely to receive rainfall.
