Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that several states are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. The weather department stated that the rainfall will reduce the temperature in these states and will provide relief from the scorching heat. However, it also stated that the northern states are likely to experience intense heat in the upcoming days. The weather department stated that the temperature could cross 40 degrees Celsius in multiple states due to western disturbances and lack of rainfall. It further advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
The weather department stated that there is less possibility of rain for the next few days in multiple states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. It stated that the temperature will increase by two to three degrees Celsius in the upcoming days, adding that the rainfall is likely to return after June 12.
The IMD stated that while the residents of the northern states are likely to witness heat until June 11, these states will receive rainfall on June 12 and in the next few days. The weather department further stated that multiple districts of Karnataka will receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days.
The IMD stated that while the city will witness light rain along with gentle breezes and cloudy skies till June 9, it will experience heavy rainfall after June 9. The weather department further stated that apart from providing relief from heat, the rainfall will also lead to issues like waterlogging and power outages.
The weather department stated that apart from Karnataka, the rainfall is also expected in several districts of Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Kerala. It advised the residents of the coastal regions to limit their financial activities during the rain.
