Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that the maximum temperature in the northern states is likely to increase by two to four degrees Celsius in the upcoming few days. The weather department informed that the maximum temperature in several states, including Delhi-NCR, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, is likely to be recorded at more than 40 degrees Celsius for the next five days. However, the IMD clarified that the western, southern, and northeastern states are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall until June 12. It has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

The weather department stated that the residents of Delhi-NCR have witnessed a consistent surge in the temperature since May 16, adding that the trend is likely to continue for the next few days. It stated that while the national capital is expected to witness dust storms on Monday and Tuesday, the weather is likely to change after June 12.

The IMD stated that the national capital is likely to receive light rainfall along with a gentle breeze from Friday. It further stated that the rainfall will reduce the temperature by two to three degrees Celsius, providing major relief from the scorching heat.

The weather department further stated that the temperature is likely to increase in the multiple districts of Uttar Pradesh. However, it also confirmed that the eastern districts are expected to witness light rain from Thursday, providing major relief from heat. Earlier on Saturday, the IMD stated that multiple districts of Bihar are expected to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days.

Apart from this, several other states, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala, are also expected to witness rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds for the next few days.
