Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday stated that several northern states are likely to receive light to heavy rain in the upcoming few days. The weather department said that while the hilly regions are expected to witness heavy rain, states like Delhi and Haryana are likely to witness light rain. It further stated that the rain is likely to reduce the maximum temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, providing major relief from the scorching heat. Apart from this, the western and the southern states are likely to receive rain, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds in the upcoming days. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
Delhi-NCR, Punjab Likely To Receive Rain
The weather department stated that Delhi-NCR is likely to receive light to moderate rain on Thursday. While the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.9 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, the minimum temperature remained around 23 degrees Celsius. The residents of the national capital are likely to witness light breezes and occasional thunderstorms in the upcoming days.

Apart from this, the IMD also stated that all the districts of Punjab have been witnessing rain for the past few days. The weather department further stated that several regions of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana are also expected to receive rain.
Hilly Regions To Experience Heavy Rain
Apart from this, the IMD has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall in most districts of Uttarakhand on Thursday. It further stated that several districts of Himachal Pradesh, including Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Sirmaur, Solan, and Una, are likely to witness rain for the next few days.

Rain Expected In Tamil Nadu, Karnataka
The IMD also stated that several other states, including Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, are also expected to receive rain in the upcoming days. While the coastal regions are likely to receive heavy rain, the other districts are expected to witness light to moderate rain.
