Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a yellow alert for dense fog in Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh. It stated that the northern states will continue to experience dense fog and cold wave for the next few days. Delhi-NCR residents on Monday had to deal with dense fog in the early hours of the day.

Several of the flights coming to Delhi-NCR got affected because of the dense fog, especially in the early hours of the day. The flights got delayed as the minimum visibility near IGI airport from 5 AM to 8 AM was only 50 meters. The dense fog also affected several trains and daily commuters. The weather department has also advised the residents to avoid outings in the early hours of the day.

The weather department informed that most of the areas of Delhi will deal with dense fog for the next two days at least. The minimum temperature in the national capital remained around 9.4 degrees Celsius on Monday. The IMD also stated that people in Uttar Pradesh will have to deal with a cold wave in the late hours of the day. It also informed that Fatehpur remained the coldest district of the state on Monday with the minimum temperature of 6.6 degrees Celsius.

The weather department also stated that Jammu and Kashmir experienced a significant dip in temperature on Monday. Pahalgam remained the coldest region of the state with a minimum temperature of -8.4 degrees Celsius. The IMD clarified that the state will have similar weather conditions in the upcoming days. It also stated that the state is expected to experience light rainfall and snowfall on January 16.

Apart from this, Bengaluru will experience different weather conditions in the upcoming days. While the temperature is likely to stay between 18 degrees Celsius to 28 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday, the residents will face similar weather conditions on January 16, 17, and 18.
