In Himachal Pradesh, cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides have severely disrupted daily life. Over the past 14 days, rain-related incidents have claimed around 43 lives, with 37 others reported missing. With rivers flowing above danger levels, IMD has warned of very heavy rainfall in isolated parts of Himachal Pradesh on July 6.
In Odisha, several districts are facing widespread waterlogging due to incessant rainfall. A red alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in several districts of Madhya Pradesh on July 6. IMD stated in a recent press release that extremely heavy rainfall is likely over isolated parts of Madhya Maharashtra's ghat regions on July 6 and 7.
The department also forecasted heavy rain over Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Western Rajasthan between July 8 and 10. Additionally, very heavy rainfall is expected in Jammu on July 6, and heavy showers are likely in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand today.
Furthermore, heavy rainfall is predicted until July 10 in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Eastern Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh. Eastern Rajasthan may witness a fresh spell of heavy rains on July 9 and 10.
According to IMD scientist Naresh Kumar, the presence of two wind systems over Madhya Pradesh and Northern Odisha is contributing to favourable conditions for intense rainfall across these regions.
