- Southwest monsoon expected in Kerala within 2-3 days.
- IMD issues rain, thunderstorm, strong wind alerts for North India.
- Delhi, UP, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh to see varied weather.
Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the southwest monsoon is likely to arrive in Kerala within the next two to three days. In view of this, the IMD has issued an alert for rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by strong winds of up to 80 km/h, across several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar and Jharkhand.
The onset of monsoon coincides with an active western disturbance and a cyclonic circulation, which have triggered significant weather disruptions from the hills to the plains.
Delhi Weather Update
Residents of the national capital are expected to witness thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and very light to light rainfall during the afternoon and evening.
This relief is expected to continue over the coming days, as the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for June 4 and 5, forecasting light showers, thunderstorms, and gusty winds of 40 to 50 km/h.
Uttar Pradesh Weather Update
The weather office has issued alerts for several districts in Uttar Pradesh, warning of partly cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
However, eastern parts of the state are expected to remain mostly dry and hot, with a possibility of dust storms in some locations.
Weather Conditions In Rajasthan, Punjab And Haryana
The Meteorological Department has issued an 'orange alert' for Rajasthan. Several parts of the state are expected to witness hailstorms and dust storms, accompanied by strong winds of 50 to 70 km/h today.
Light to moderate rain and thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds are likely to bring relief from the scorching heat. Temperature is expected to drop by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.

Himachal Pradesh Weather Update
An active western disturbance is expected to bring light snowfall to the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh and rain and thundershowers to the lower reaches. Meanwhile, moderate rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds is likely in several districts of Uttarakhand.
