Weather Update: Snowfall In Mountains Leading To Temperature Drop
The new year is beginning with an intense cold. A western disturbance is expected to affect the mountains in the first week of January, which will cause a rapid drop in minimum temperatures. The chill will increase from Himachal to Jammu & Kashmir, and from Jammu & Kashmir to Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Bihar-Jharkhand. Between January 1st and 2nd, snowfall is expected in some mountainous areas of Jammu & Kashmir, and rain is likely in the plains. This will affect highways and air services.
Due to ongoing snowfall in the mountains, the cold north-western winds are blowing, leading to a rise in the cold and a drop in temperatures across Bihar. The chilly winds have intensified the winter, bringing a noticeable dip in the temperature and making the cold conditions more severe.
Madhya Pradesh Weather: IMD Predicts Fog For Bhopal
Meteorologists predict that the start of the new year will be marked by severe cold, with fog expected today. The cool and pleasant weather could persist until March. Bhopal, known for its various lakes and small hills spread across the city, experiences a constant flow of air due to its topography. This results in cooler evenings, providing a much-needed respite from the heat in May-June, as the evening breezes offer relief from the scorching daytime temperatures. Ajay Shukla, a former senior meteorologist at the Meteorological Center, highlighted that increased environmental awareness among the public is also influencing the weather patterns in the area.
