The sky in the national capital remained partially cloudy throughout the day on Saturday. A slight drizzle was also observed in some places. As a result, for the first time in 40 days, the maximum temperature in Delhi dropped below 40 degrees Celsius on Saturday. This came as a major respite for the national capital amid scorching heatwave spells. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will remain partly cloudy on Sunday and Monday as well. During this period, there may be light rain. Therefore, relief from the heatwave is expected to continue.

On Sunday, the maximum temperature is expected to be 40 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature is expected to be 30 degrees Celsius. There is also a possibility of a storm on Monday.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Tuesday and Wednesday, forecasting an increase in temperature by up to three degrees Celsius. As a result, the maximum temperature on both days could reach 43 degrees Celsius, leading to the possibility of a heatwave in Delhi. However, light rain is expected on June 27, which will likely result in a drop in temperature from June 27 onward.

On Saturday, the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 28.6 degrees Celsius, which is one degree Celsius above normal. The heat index was 47, making the weather feel hotter than the actual temperature. There was also very light rain in some areas, including Safdarjung and Lodhi Road. The previous day, Delhi had recorded a maximum temperature of 40.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 28.4 degrees Celsius.

On Saturday, the air quality in the NCR remained in the moderate category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air index recorded was 189 for Delhi, 170 for Faridabad, 180 for Ghaziabad, 199 for Greater Noida, 122 for Gurugram, and 184 for Noida, all falling within the moderate range. The air quality is expected to remain in the moderate category for the next three days.
