Weather Updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted increased rainfall activity in North and Northeast India including Delhi-NCR over the next few days. An 'orange alert' has been issued for heavy rainfall on Thursday in Bihar and parts of Uttar Pradesh. According to the regional meteorological centre in New Delhi, a generally cloudy sky with very light to light rain is expected in the National Capital Region today. The temperature is expected to reach a high of 36 degrees Celsius and a low of 26 degrees Celsius. IMD officials on Wednesday stated that rainfall intensity in Delhi is expected to rise in the coming days.

Weather Forecast: Rainfall Prediction Across The Country

East And Northeast India

- According to the IMD weather bulletin, released on Wednesday, widespread light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning, is expected over the next five days in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, and Northeast India. Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha will also see scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall during this period.

- Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated locations in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya till July 14. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected in Jharkhand on July 11 and 12, in Odisha from July 12 to 14, and in Nagaland and Manipur on July 11, and 14.

- Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar and Meghalaya on July 11.

Northwest And Central India

- Over the next five days, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning are expected in Uttarakhand and Central India. Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, and East Rajasthan will experience scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall during this period. Additionally, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi will see such weather conditions from July 11 to 13.

- Isolated heavy rainfall is likely in East Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh till July 14; in Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh till July 12; in Himachal Pradesh from July 11 to 13; in Jammu on July 12 and 13; in North Haryana and North Punjab on July 12; and in East Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh on July 11.

- Isolated very heavy rainfall is also expected in East Uttar Pradesh and East Madhya Pradesh on July 11.
