Delhi Overhead Electricity Wire: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her cabinet colleague Ashish Sood inaugurated a pilot project for converting the overhead electricity wire to an underground wire network at the Janata Flats in Shalimar Bagh on Saturday. Sood, while speaking to reporters, said under the leadership of CM Rekha Gupta, the government will make Delhi wire-free.
The chief minister said, "Making overhead wires underground is a pilot project for Delhi. It is a vision and idea that our Delhi becomes overhead wire-free. I am happy that through this project, the government is working to provide a new facility to the people of Delhi... A time will come when not a single wire will be visible in Delhi."
It means Delhi will be free from overhead wires, he asserted. "In the past 10 years, the Delhi government had zero funds in the name of capital expenditure. We are making efforts to build a reliable power infrastructure in Delhi,” the Delhi minister said.
