West Bengal Assembly Election Result 2021: Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah took over the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), West Bengal has been witnessing a tough competition between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Party and the saffron party. The key pollster agencies predicted that Mamata Banerjee's TMC may lose to the BJP. If the BJP wins Bengal, it would form its first government in the state, a long-time desire of the saffron party.

The Jagran Maha Poll predicted a tight fight between the TMC and the BJP as both likely to win 143 seats each, while other may win 8 constituencies.

Results of Bengal Assembly Elections 2021

In the West Bengal Elections 2021, the TMC registered a thumping victory by bagging 213 seats in the 294-member assembly, while the BJP rose to 77 seats from 3. The BJP could not win the poll, but surprised many with a huge jump of 74 seats. The defeat of CM Mamata was also a major highlight of the election.

Mamata Vs Suvendu In Nandigram

The Nandigram seat was the most high-profile electoral battle in the West Bengal Assembly elections 2021, as Mamata was challenged by the BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari. Adhikari made a big blow to the ruling party after defeating Mamata by a narrow margin of 1,956 votes. Suvendu received 110,764 votes, while Mamata got 108,808 votes.
