West Bengal Weather: While residents of South Bengal are reeling under scorching heat, the Alipur Meteorological Department forecast that thunderstorms along with rain are likely in all districts including Kolkata. South Bengal has still not witnessed monsoon rains yet.
However, the weather office has forecast that there is a possibility of light rain at some places in South 24 Parganas, West Burdwan, Birbhum, and Murshidabad. South Bengal districts including Kolkata are likely to experience thundershowers from Friday till Monday. Also, winds with a speed of 40-50 kmph might occur along with the shower.
Thunderstorm warnings have also been issued for North Bengal areas. It may rain until next Monday. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar today. Heavy rain is forecast in Darjeeling and Kalimpong.

When Will Monsoon In West Bengal Arrive?
According to weather office sources, it will take another 2-3 days for monsoon to enter South Bengal of the state. Monsoon has already entered some parts of North Bengal, reported AajTak Bangla.
The Meteorological Department stated that there will be no change in temperature in Gangetic West Bengal districts for the next four days. Temperatures will remain constant in North Bengal districts.
According to an official from the IMD's Regional Meteorological Centre in Kolkata, the districts of South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly, East Midnapore, Jhargram, Purulia, Bankura, East Burdwan, Birbhum, Murshidabad, Nadia and Kolkata will experience thunderstorms and rainfall starting from Wednesday.
"The districts will continue to reel under hot and sultry weather till Wednesday. However, from Thursday onwards, rain will intensify in all districts of south Bengal," the official stated.
