Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi while launching Gramin Aawas Nyay Yojna in poll-bound Chattisgarh and said that when the prime minister presses a button on his remote control, Adani gets Mumbai airport and railways.

The Congress leader further said that when he presses the button, farmers get money in their bank accounts and English medium schools are built.

Under the Gramin Awas Yojana, Rs 118 crore were directly transferred to the bank accounts of nearly 47 thousand beneficiaries as a first instalment. The scheme was launched by using a remote control.

Later, the Congress MP showed the remote control to the public and said that the prime minister also has one but he presses it secretly. "We press the button of the remote control in the open. But the BJP presses it secretly.”

The official handle of the Congress took to X and shared the video.

“When Narendra Modi ji presses the button of remote control, Adani gets the contract of Mumbai Airport and Railways. If we press the button, the farmer gets money in his account, and English schools open. If BJP presses the button, the public sector gets privatized, and your water, forests and land are handed over to Adani,” the Wayanad MP said.

Gandhi further accused the Modi government of not releasing funds meant for the housing scheme. “The Congress government of Chhattisgarh has been continuously working for the people. At the same time, the Modi government is not giving money to the people under the housing scheme and is not fulfilling its responsibility,” he said.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi while addressing a rally in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh hit out at Congress and called it a party of ‘rusted iron’ which would push back the state into the BIMARU category.

"During its erstwhile rule, Congress had pushed MP, which has rich resources, into a BIMARU (laggard) state whereas more than 13.5 crore people came out of poverty under the BJP rule in the last five years in the country," PM Modi said.

Both Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will be going to the polls in a few months.
