In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Bansuri Swaraj, the daughter of former Foreign Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, will be making her poll debut. The Bharatiya Janata Party declared that she would run for the Lok Sabha seat from New Delhi in its initial list of candidates. Bansuri Swaraj, soon after her name was revealed, declared that she was certain her mother was sending her blessings from heaven and that she would strive to live up to the legacy she had set.

Who Is Bansuri Swaraj?

Distinguished lawyer Bansuri Swaraj is a valuable addition to the political sphere because of her extensive knowledge of legal proceedings. She was designated by the BJP as the co-convenor of the legal cell of the party in Delhi last year. Having been registered with the Delhi Bar Council in 2007, Bansuri Swaraj has an impressive fifteen years of experience in the legal field.

Bansuri went on to study law at the esteemed BPP Law School in London after earning her undergraduate degree in English literature from the University of Warwick. She graduated from college with a law degree from the prestigious Inner Temple Inn in London and was called to the bar. She earned her master's degree in studies from St. Catherine's College at the University of Oxford, which strengthened her legal credentials even more.

How Bansuri Swaraj Gained Limelight

Last year, Bansuri Swaraj gained prominence for her sharp criticism of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government regarding the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023.

She praised President Droupadi Murmu for approving the Bill and expressed assurance that the Delhi government would now follow the law.
