Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Parvesh Verma defeated former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal by over 4,000 votes in the New Delhi constituency on Saturday. Kejriwal, who dreamed of returning to power in Delhi, faced a shocking defeat when the BJP gained lead in more than 40 seats in the first-half of the day. In a post on X, Parvesh Verma hailed Lord Ram and said, 'Jai Shri Ram.'

Later, while speaking to th media, Verma said, "This govt which is going to be formed in Delhi will bring PM Modi's vision to Delhi. I give credit for this victory to PM Modi. I thank the people of Delhi. This is the victory of PM Modi and the people of Delhi."

Who Is Parvesh Verma?

Pravesh Verma is a Jat leader and two time member of parliament. He comes from a family of politicians. His father Sahib Singh Verma was a former BJP leader and Delhi chief minister. His uncle Azad Singh served as the North Delhi Municipal Corporation mayor and contested from Mundka constituency on a BJP ticket in 2013 polls.

Parvesh Verma was born in 1977 and completed his schooling from Delhi Public School in RK Puram and pursued graduation from Kirori Mal College.

Parvesh Verma Net Worth

While filing his nomination, Parvesh Verma declared a personal net worth of about Rs 89 crore. His spouse Swati Singh has a net worth of Rs 24.4 crore. The couple has disclosed a net worth of Rs 113 crore, reported Mint earlier.

Verma disclosed owning Rs 2.2 lakh cash in hand, his wife Swati has Rs 50,000 in hand. Parvesh Verma's investment in equity and stock market included shares and bonds worth Rs 52.75 crore. His insurance investment is worth Rs 17 lakh and his wife has an insurance investment of Rs 5.5 lakh.
