A woman in Tamil Nadu Madurai was brutally attacked by a man after she allegedly turned down his proposal for a relationship, reported India Today. The victim worked at a photocopy shop in Madurai.

According to the report, the incident took place on Sunday when the woman was working at the shop and a video of the incident is also making the rounds on internet.

The victim, named Lavanya, was allegedly harassed by a 25-year-old man, Siddiq Raja, who repeatedly proposed a relationship. Both Lavanya and Siddiq Raja are from the same neighborhood.

On Sunday, the accused asked Lavanya why she was consistently refusing to his proposal, however, she did not respond. This enraged the man who assaulted the woman until she fell on the floor and started crying for help. She was left unconscious on the floor following the incident.

Later, the bystanders took her to until she fell on the floor. Reportedly, she is currently undergoing treatment and a complaint has also been filed in the matter.

In another separate incident that took place in Agra, a man allegedly made his friend rape his wife and filmed the assault. The accused then allegedly used the video of the incident to blackmail her to demand Rs 2 lakh and threatened her to release the video online. Police have registered a case and arrested both the husband and his friend.

The victim works as a labourer and is the mother of a 12-year-old boy. She revealed that her husband only visits their home occasionally.

In another shocking incident, a mother-daughter duo were allegedly assaulted and their clothes were torn by neighbours on suspicion of indulging in prostitution in Belagavi district. The tragic incident took place on November 11 in Vaddarawadi in the limits of Malamaruti police station, however came to light on Saturday after a video of the assault went viral on social media.
