India has firmly rebuffed China's diplomatic protest regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Arunachal Pradesh. The Indian government asserted that objections to such visits or developmental projects lack justification and rationale.

China criticized PM Modi's inauguration of the Sela Tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh, which facilitates easier access for Indian troops to areas near the disputed border between the two countries. Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin stated that China has never recognised Arunachal Pradesh and firmly opposes India's establishment of it.

India swiftly responded to China's objections, with external affairs ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal dismissing Beijing's criticism of PM Modi's visit. Jaiswal highlighted that Indian leaders routinely visit Arunachal Pradesh, just like other states within the country, and objected to China's interference in India's internal affairs.

"We reject the comments made by the Chinese side regarding the visit of the Prime Minister to Arunachal Pradesh. Indian leaders visit Arunachal Pradesh from time to time, as they visit other States of India," the statement said.

Furthermore, Jaiswal reiterated India's stance on Arunachal Pradesh's status as an integral and inseparable part of India. He said that China has been informed of India's consistent position on multiple occasions.

"Objecting to such visits or India's developmental projects does not stand to reason. Further, it will not change the reality that the State of Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India. The Chinese side has been made aware of this consistent position on several occasions," the statement added.
