Social media platform X is down for thousands of users in India due to some technical issue, Downdetector reported. The users have reported difficulty in acessing feeds, shared links and posting content on the platform.
According to data from Downdetector, the issue seemed to have started after 8 PM. A total of 1,227 outage were reported across the country at 8:17 PM. This rose to 4,500 till 8:30 PM on Downdetector. Although users are receiving timely alert from the platform, they reported problems in opening links, refreshing their feeds.
The users on mobile also encountered "Cannot retrieve post at this time" message on the application. The users also complained of either seeing hours old posts or the user interface got stuck on a 'black page’.
While 37 per cent outages were linked to the platform's web portal, 55 per cent were reported from the mobile application. Roughly 10 per cent users said they experienced server connection failures and other problem related to feed or timeline.

According to Downdetector, users in the United States have also reported problems in accessing the social media platform. Within 30 minutes, 14,000 users reported outage in America. In the US, 45 per cent of users have been facing problems on mobile application, 28 per cent with timeline of feed issue and 17 per cent with website.
This is not the first time that the platform has experienced technical problems in the past few months. The users have reported intermittent outages.
Despite the outage that is estimated of affecting lakhs of users globally, the company has not yet issued an official statement on the cause or duration of the disruption.
