A Mohali Court on Friday pronounced pastor Bajinder Singh guilty in a 2018 sexual harassment case. The pronouncement of the sentence on punishment will take place on April 1, as per news agency ANI. The 2018 case, in which the preacher has been found guilty, pertains to rape charge against him by a Zirakpur-based victim, who alleged that the pastor established non-consensual relations with her on the pretext of taking her abroad.

A woman had filed a complaint stating that she and her parents have been attending the church since October 2017. Bajinder Singh, who gained fame through the viral 'Mera Yeshu Yeshu' video, obtained the woman's mobile number and began sending her messages. The woman claimed that since 2022, Singh made her sit alone in a cabin at the church on Sundays, where he allegedly hugged and touched her inappropriately. She also stated that Singh followed her on her way to college and threatened her with severe consequences if she disclosed his actions to anyone.

An FIR in the case was registered at the Zirakpur police station on April 20, 2018,under sections 354 A (sexual harassment), 354 D (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. Supporters of Singh had protested, blocking the Nakodar-Jalandhar road and claiming that the FIR is part of a conspiracy against him. 

Just three days ago, a case was filed against Singh over a viral video showing him thrashing a man and a woman. In the video that recently went viral and sparked an outrage, Bajinder Singh was seen throwing a phone and a book at two people in his office.

Who Is Bajinder Singh

Bajinder Singh, originally from Haryana, converted to Christianity and became a preacher in 2012. He has faced previous allegations, including a rape case in 2022, but was acquitted due to lack of evidence. He has garnered a significant social media following, with his videos frequently featured on YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels and he has been endorsed by various celebrities, including actors Chunky Pandey and Aditya Pancholi. Singh has also been involved in several controversies over the years, including allegations of fraud related to miracle healing practices.
