The Jharkhand government has launched a coaching institute for meritorious students from the Scheduled Tribe category for free preparation for medical (NEET) and engineering (JEE Mains). This institute is opening in the Multipurpose Hall cum Training Centre located in Hindpiri, Ranchi, and has been named the Dishom Guru Shibu Soren Medical (NEET) and Engineering (JEE Mains) Coaching Institute. 

Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Minister for the Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste and Backward Class Department, Chamra Linda, inaugurated it at a programme organised at the Adivasi Maidan in Hindpiri. The state government has decided to provide free coaching to 300 meritorious students from the Scheduled Tribe category under the Scheduled Tribe Educational Upliftment Programme.

The Kota-based institute, Motion, has been selected for this purpose. Applications from candidates for the free coaching have already been accepted. The objective of this programme is to ensure that meritorious students from this category are not deprived of medical and engineering studies due to financial constraints. This department provides financial assistance to ST candidates who have passed the Union Public Service Commission's Civil Services Preliminary Examination for free preparation for the Main Examination and interview. 

Meanwhile, through the Dr Ramdayal Munda Tribal Research Institute, which operates under the department, candidates from this category are prepared for JPSC and JSSC examinations.

The state government is also preparing to provide free medical and engineering coaching to meritorious students from the SC and OBC categories. A scheme for them may be launched from the next academic session. Funds for this may be allocated in the budget for the next financial year. 

The Minority Welfare Department has decided to provide free coaching to candidates from the minority category for JPSC and JSSC. The department has initiated separate tender processes for the selection of institutes. This scheme will be launched soon after the selection of the institutes.
