Ageing Foods To Avoid: With time, our skin begins to age and develop fine lines, dark spots and pores. Excessive exposure to UV rays, using too much of harmful chemicals in skincare products, unhealthy lifestyle and poor skincare habits are some contributing factors to skin ageing. Adapting to a healthy lifestyle, sleeping patterns, skincare routine and consuming nutritious foods can go a long way in delaying ageing and achieving glowing and spotless skin. Similarly, on the other hand, one must avoid certain foods that are known for their ageing properties for better skin health. Here is a list of some ageing foods that you should eliminate from your diet and prevent skin ageing.

1. Spicy Foods
Consuming too much spicy foods can have effects on your skin health. According to WebMD, spicy foods make the blood vessels swell and even break, leading to purple marks on the face. It also raises the body’s temperature, which is why you sweat to cool back down. When sweat mixes with the bacteria on the skin, it can cause breakouts and blotches.
2. Soda And Energy Drinks

When low on energy, we sometimes prefer sodas and energy drinks to get back on track. But the more soda and energy drinks you consume the quicker the cells in your tissues age. Moreover, these beverages have added sugar and calories than any other beverages, which forms acid in the mouth and leads to tooth decay. When the body is supplied with ample amounts of added sugar, it can cause the skin’s collagen and elasticity to get stiffer and lead to wrinkles and fine lines.

3. Alcohol
The WebMD states that extrinsic ageing is when your skin ages faster than it should because of your environment and how you live. That's where alcohol comes in, it dehydrates you and dries out your skin.
4. Processed Meat
Processed meats such as bacon, hot dogs, bacon, sausages and more are high in saturated fats, sodium, and sulfite which can cause the skin to dehydrate. It further weakens the collagen and leads to inflammation.

5. Baked Foods
Baked foods like cookies or cakes are high in artery-clogging fats that make you gain extra pounds. They don’t skimp on sugar, which in excess can cause diabetes, high blood pressure, and tooth decay, says WebMD The more inflammation you have, the higher your chances of arthritis, depression, Alzheimer’s, and some cancers.
