The antioxidants prevent the oxidation of cholesterol. When cholesterol oxidises, it’s more likely to create blockages that lead to heart disease.
Digestion
Papayas contain two enzymes; papain and chymopapain. These enzymes help to digest protein, help with digestion and reduce inflammation. Both these enzymes also ease acute pain and help with chronic inflammatory conditions such as arthritis or asthma.
