It's crucial to look after yourself during the monsoon season to avoid fungal infections, as these conditions are ideal for fungal growth due to their humidity and dampness. The first line of defense against these infections is good hygiene. Keep your skin clean and dry, especially in areas where moisture is likely to accumulate, such as the groin, armpits, and feet. Breathable and moisture-wicking materials can help lower the likelihood of fungal growth by keeping your skin dry.
It's imperative to promptly remove damp clothing and footwear to prevent extended exposure to moisture. Thus, we've compiled a list of every precaution you may take to avoid contracting fungal infections during the monsoon season below.
Put On Breathable Clothes
Cotton absorbs perspiration and moisture, so choose breathable clothing to promote air circulation and avoid tight clothing to prevent moisture buildup and fungal growth. Loosely fitting clothes are preferred.
Never Share Personal Iteams
Use your own towel and refrain from sharing personal belongings such as socks, shoes, and nail clippers as they might spread fungal infections.
Better Immune System
A robust immune system, supported by a balanced diet, regular exercise, and adequate water intake, can effectively combat infections, including fungal ones, by effectively flushing out toxins and keeping the body healthy.

Foot Hygiene
After washing, make sure your feet are completely dry, especially between the toes, to avoid fungal infections. For breathability, wear sandals or open-toed shoes, and ensure your closed shoes are dry and have adequate ventilation. Using antifungal sprays or powders regularly in your shoes can also help prevent fungal infections.
Dry Skin
Fungi prefer warm, humid conditions to flourish. Dry yourself well, especially in the groin, underarms, and between the toes, to avoid infection. To keep these areas dry, apply antifungal talcum powder. Change out of damp socks and garments as soon as possible.
