Ways To Reduce Fatigue: The majority of us experience frequent episodes of restlessness or drop in energy levels and sleepiness throughout the day. While on some days we are fueled with energy levels, on some days a bare minimum task feels like moving the mountain. Fatigue is a condition of constant exhaustion, burnout or lack of energy. This exhaustion can be physical, mental and emotional. Here are some effective tips to reduce fatigue and boost your energy levels.

Ways To Reduce Fatigue

1. Eat Healthy Foods

Consuming healthy foods rich in essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, fibre, protein, zinc, iron and others can help fight fatigue. The more nutrients you will intake, the more energised you will be. Include foods specifically rich in protein and fibre that boost metabolism, prevent hunger and keep you energised.

2. Keep Moving

During those times when fatigue hits you, it is important to move your body, get up and move around to get your body in an active state. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), even a single 15-minute walk can give you an energy boost and the benefits increase with more frequent physical activity.

3. Adequate Sleep

One of the main factors that contribute to fatigue is sleep deprivation. Not sleeping for enough hours makes you feel lethargic, which alleviates the feelings of fatigue. Therefore, try to take at least 6-7 hours of uninterrupted sleep every day to prevent feelings of fatigue throughout the day.

4. Manage Stress

According to the NIH, stress uses up a lot of energy. Try to introduce relaxing activities into your day such as working out at the gym, yoga or tai chi, listening to music or reading or spending time with friends. Practise meditation to reduce your stress and live a healthy life.

5. Stay Hydrated

Harvard Health states that water is essential for carrying nutrients to your body's cells and taking away waste products. Roughly 50% to 60% of your body weight is water, yet you constantly lose water through urine, sweat, and breathing. When you are low on fluids, your body may feel tired and weaker than usual. Therefore, replenish your body with adequate amounts of water throughout the day.
