Foods To Avoid With Honey: Known as one of the best remedies in our kitchen, honey has innumerable health benefits for one’s health and well-being. It is rich in essential nutrients and antioxidants that play a major role in managing several diseases such as diabetes. Honey is primarily composed of sugar that provides abundant vitamins and minerals and health-promoting plant compounds.
Also, honey is minimally processed and contains numerous important bioactive plant compounds and antioxidants, such as flavonoids and phenolic acids. With so much to offer, it is important to be vigilant about how you consume honey and with which foods. Combining certain foods with honey may cause an instant sugar spike in the body and lead to other health problems. Here is a list of foods that you should never combine with honey.
Foods To Never Eat With Honey
Hot Water & Milk
Although adding honey to warm water may not reduce its efficacy, the temperature variation might cause problems. If you add honey to boiling water or milk, it may destroy certain beneficial enzymes, antioxidants and nutrients present in honey.
Fish
Always avoid consuming honey with non-vegetarian foods, especially honey. Consuming honey with fish or meat is an extremely harmful food pairing and can lead to digestive problems such as abdominal cramps and white spots.

Sugar

Honey is already a sugar substitute, adding it to sugar can cause significant sugar spikes in the body and elevate your risk of diabetes. Similar to sugar, honey is also high in carbs, which can raise blood sugar levels, therefore never combine it with sugar.
Ghee
As unusual as it sounds, pairing ghee with honey is something you would not like to taste. Mixing honey with ghee may make a toxic food pairing that can have numerous health side effects. When you mix honey with sugar, a substance called Clostridium Botulinum begins to spread rapidly in the body, which can cause respiratory problems and even cancer.
Yoghurt
Honey may not be the best food choice to combine with your bowl of yoghurt. The abundance of nutrients in honey and yoghurt when combined may disrupt your gut health and lead to numerous digestive issues.
