On National Cancer Awareness Day, we've compiled a few habits that will help you to reduce the risk of cancer.

Being vigilant about food choices helps avoid carcinogenic substances found in certain food items like sugary drinks and foods high in pesticides. Embracing whole, nutrient-rich foods like fruits, vegetables and whole grains strengthens immune function and minimises exposure to cancer-causing agents.

Quit Smoking And Limit Alcohol

Quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption to significantly lower cancer risk. Tobacco smoke contains 70 known carcinogens while excessive alcohol use increases the risk of liver, breast and colon cancers. Avoiding smoking and limiting drinks to 1-2 per day for men and 1 per day for women can also help prevent cancer.
