Therefore, what you consume in the morning can have a huge role to play in your overall health and well-being. Health experts suggest individuals drink water foremost in the morning hours. The body is dehydrated and needs ample amounts of hydration, therefore consuming water on an empty stomach is important to satiate the body’s needs. In a conversation with editorial Only My Health, Ms Anam Golandaz, Clinical Dietitian, Masina Hospital, Mumbai shared some reasons why you should adopt a habit of drinking water first thing in the morning.

1. Hydration
There are innumerable benefits of drinking water on an empty stomach. This habit helps hydrate the body with good amounts of water and flush out toxins, as when we go to sleep, we go for about 7-8 hours without drinking water. Therefore, this makes the body dehydrated and lacks nutrients, which is why it is important to consume fresh water on an empty stomach in the morning.
