Unhealthy Habits Of Weight Loss: There are times when we go on diets, practise regular exercise, and follow healthy eating patterns, but still we do not notice any significant changes in our body weight. There can be a wide variety of reasons why you may not be losing weight despite following a healthy lifestyle. The first thing that we should keep in mind when trying to shed those extra kilos is that weight loss is not just about dieting and exercise, but more than that. Several factors such as age and gender also have a crucial role to play in your weight loss journey. Here are some probable reasons why you might not be losing weight even after dieting and exercising.

1. Less Nutritious Food
Sometimes we consume less food but forget to understand their nutritional profile. Foods high in fibre, protein, vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients should be included in an ideal weight-loss diet. Therefore, if you notice that you are not losing that weight, it might be because you may be eating less food, but also choosing foods with less nutritional value, which is why your body is not getting the nutrition that it requires during a weight loss process.
2. Alcohol
Alcohol can have a significant impact on your weight loss as it can stop your body from burning fat, make you feel more hungry and dehydrated, and also increase the cravings for salty and oily foods. According to WebMD, if you often have 3 or more drinks a day, you’re more likely to gain weight or be overweight, no matter what type of alcohol you drink. Stick to light or moderate drinking, like one glass of wine with dinner. That may actually help keep you from gaining weight.
3. No Track Of Foods
It is important to keep track of what you eat and drink while shedding those extra kilos. Sometimes, we appreciate ourselves for eating a bowl of salad and jump on eating a bowl of unhealthy food, naming it cravings or cheat meals. This practice has the potential to hamper your weight loss journey. Therefore, always try to keep track of what you eat in a day and plan your meals accordingly.
4. Unmanageable Stress
Stress is a significant contributor to weight. According to WebMD, if you feel tense, you’re more likely to reach for unhealthy, high-calorie treats for a quick comfort fix. You may eat when you don't really need food. Therefore, while on a weight loss diet, one needs to practise strategies to be able to manage their daily stress.
5. Medications
WebMD states that some drugs we take can make us gain a little weight. Steroids can change our metabolism and make us feel hungrier, which is why we may overeat and gain extra belly fat. They lower a chemical our body makes to control our appetite, so we may sneeze less but eat more.
