Another reason is that sometimes mangoes can have dust and pesticides on their surface that need to be removed before eating. Soaking them in water can help to loosen these substances and make them easier to wash off.

Reduce Heat

Washing and soaking mangoes before eating is essential for hygiene and health. Soaking mangoes in water can help in getting rid of any dust or harmful particles on their surface. Not washing them properly can lead to exposure to contaminants present on their surface. 

Softening

It is essential to soak mangoes in water prior to consumption as it makes their pulp and skin soft. Soaking them for about 30 minutes can help in slight softening of the skin which makes cutting mangoes easier.
