Spending at least 20 minutes each day in the sun has several health advantages that are crucial for overall well-being. Sunlight exposure is a natural source of vitamin D, which helps the body absorb calcium and is essential for healthy bones. This can aid in the prevention of diseases like rickets and osteoporosis. Additionally, exposure to sunlight can improve mood and lessen symptoms of depression by increasing the production of serotonin, a hormone linked to pleasure and well-being.
Sunlight also contributes to sleep pattern regulation by maintaining the circadian rhythm, the body's internal clock regulated by natural light. Moderate sun exposure has been connected to a lower risk of developing certain illnesses, including multiple sclerosis and some types of cancer, as well as enhanced immune function. Here, we have gathered all the benefits of spending at least 20 minutes in the sun.

Vitamin D
Sun exposure provides vitamin D, which is essential for optimal health. Lack of sun exposure can lead to vitamin D deficiency.
Treats Vitiligo
Vitiligo is a skin condition that results in white patches and the death of color-producing cells. It is typically caused by an autoimmune reaction and can be managed with natural therapies or UVA radiation.
Weight Control
While more human studies are needed, research on mice has shown that sunlight helps with weight management when they are given low quantities of UV radiation, according to NIH.
