Traditional Moong Dal Chilla

Ingredients: moong dal (soaked), small onion, green chilli, spinach, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, salt and cooking oil. 

Drain and blend the soaked moong dal into a smooth batter, adding water if necessary. Then, combine the batter with chopped onion, green chilli, spinach, cumin seeds, turmeric powder and salt. Heat a non-stick pan and lightly grease it with oil. Pour a ladle of the batter onto the pan, spreading it into a thin, even circle. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden. Serve with green chutney or yoghurt.

Moong Dal Chilla With Carrots And Peas

Ingredients: soaked moong dal, grated carrots, green peas, small onion, coriander powder, garam masala, salt and cooking oil. 

Blend the soaked moong dal into a smooth batter. Mix in the grated carrots, green peas, onion, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Spread the batter thinly on a hot non-stick pan. Cook the chilla for about 2-3 minutes until it turns golden and serve hot with sauce or chutney.

Spicy Moong Dal Chilla

Take one cup of soaked moong dal and blend it to form a smooth batter. Mix the batter with chopped onion, green chilli, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, chaat masala and salt. In a non-stick pan, spread the batter into a thin layer and let it cook for about 2 minutes. Serve the delicious spicy moong dal chilla with coconut chutney.

Herbed Moong Dal Chilla

In a blender, blend one cup of soaked moong dal to form a smooth batter. In the batter, add some chopped herbs, onion, black pepper, turmeric powder and salt according to your taste. Then, heat a pan and lightly grease it with oil. Pour and spread the batter into a thin layer on the pan and cook until both sides turn golden brown. Serve the chilla hot with green chutney.

Moong Dal Chilla With Bell Peppers

To begin with, blend some soaked moong dal in a blender and add chopped bell peppers, onion, paprika, turmeric powder and salt to it. Mix the batter well and then heat a non-stick pan and lightly grease it with oil. Spread the batter onto the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Serve with tamarind chutney or a fresh vegetable salad.
