Embrace Dinacharya (Daily Routine):
This core Ayurvedic practice emphasizes establishing a regular daily routine that cleanses the body, promotes regularity, and fosters a balanced mind-body connection. An ideal Dinacharya might include practices like waking up early, scraping your tongue, self-massage (abhyanga), and eating meals at consistent times. Following a Dinacharya is believed to strengthen your digestive fire (agni) and promote the production of ojas, the essence of immunity in Ayurveda.
Use Medicated Oil:
Ayurveda offers solutions to almost all human needs, utilizing time-tested practices to enhance overall well-being. Ayurvedic oils, in particular, are special medicinal preparations with the power to balance the three doshas, provide the body with essential micronutrients, and rejuvenate the organs. Examples include sesame oil and ashwagandha oil for Vata, coconut oil and sandalwood oil for Pitta, and mustard oil and eucalyptus oil for Kapha. Do Not Exert Yourself:
During the summer, excessive exertion can lead to dehydration and heat-related illnesses, making it essential to exercise with caution. Conversely, in winter, the body needs more warmth and circulation. Increased physical activity during this time helps maintain core temperature and overall vitality. Ayurveda advises moderation in summer workouts to prevent pitta aggravation and maintain internal cooling and balance. In winter, increased activity stokes the digestive fire (agni), counteracting kapha accumulation and enhancing energy and immunity.
