THE AUSPICIOUS occasion of Chaitra Navratri is being celebrated throughout the country with great fanfare. Navratri is a nine-day long Hindu festival that worships Goddess Durga in her nine avatars on each day. Chaitra Navratri begins on the first day of the Hindu Luni-Solar calendar and falls in March or April.
Chaitra is the first month of the Hindu lunar calendar and because of it, this Navratri is known as Chaitra Navratri. The festival signifies ‘good over evil’ and is celebrated with utmost importance. The final day of Chaitra Navratri is just a day ahead. This year, Chaitra Navratri commenced on March 22 and will culminate on March 30 with Ram Navami.
Chaitra Navratri 2023 Day 9: Goddess
Worshipped on the last day or the final day of Navratri, Goddess Siddhidatri is the form of Ardhnarishwar, as she appeared on the left half of Lord Shiva. It is believed that Goddess Siddhidatri provides direction and energy to planet Ketu. Hence planet Ketu is governed by her. She is worshipped by not only humans but also by Deva, Gandharva, Asura, Yaksha and Siddha.
Chaitra Navratri 2023 Day 9: Colour
The final or last day of Chaitra Navratri is associated with pink colour. Pink symbolises universal love, affection and harmony. It is an attractive colour, makes the person approachable and simultaneously adds oodles of charm to one's personality.
Chaitra Navratri 2023 Day 9: Shubh Muhurat
According to Drik Panchang, Ram Navami or the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri will be celebrated on March 30 across the country. According to Drik Panchang, the Navami Tithi will begin at 09:07 PM on March 29 and end at 11:30 PM on March 30.
Maa Siddhidatri Bhog
Maa Siddhidatri is worshipped on the last day of Navratri. Devotees can offer fresh flowers and fruits to the Goddess. You can also offer sesame seeds and foods made with sesame seeds to the Goddess.
