Constitution Day Of India 2025: On November 26, India observes Constitution Day of India annually to celebrate the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1949. Also known as Samvidhan Divas, Constitution Day is a significant milestone that shaped the nation’s democratic framework. On this day, visionary leaders of the Constituent Assembly of India, including Dr BR Ambedkar, drafted and adopted the Constitution. It came into effect a year later, on January 26, 1950, which is now celebrated as Republic Day. Dr BR Ambedkar, also known as the “Father of the Indian Constitution,” chaired the drafting committee and shaped the basic tenets of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity mentioned in the Constitution.

The Indian Constitution Day aims to promote awareness and understanding of the Constitution among citizens, particularly the youth. The day is observed to honour the framers of the Constitution.
