Back pain is one of the most common problems experienced by people of all ages. Regardless of the workload and lifestyle, people face excruciating back pain which can interfere with their ability to carry out daily activities. Certain common causes such as muscle pain, disk damage and other health conditions may be culprits behind back pain, but some lifestyle habits may also be one of the reasons.
If you are someone who immediately lies down after having a heavy dinner, you may be experiencing back pain more frequently than other people. Back pain after eating is often related to referred pain caused by oesophagus or stomach irritation. Therefore, many experts suggest taking a walk or stroll at night after dinner to prevent overeating, digestive problems and back pain.
Does Going To Bed With Full Stomach Cause Back Pain?
“One of the reasons why you may be having back pain is you are going to bed with a full stomach. Your stomach bag is full, you go and lie down, everything goes and falls on the spine. It also doesn't allow several organs to function properly. So traditionally they always told you to eat before sunset. There are many reasons for that, but at least you should eat dinner three to four hours before you go to sleep. If you have eaten, then you will feel there is no backache”, Sadhguru Jaggi explains.

One of the best yoga poses for back pain relief is the supine twist. This pose works well for stretching and relieving tension in the neck, shoulders, back, and muscles. This yoga pose, also called Supta Matsyendrasana in Sanskrit, is a reclining twist that is great for beginners.
Bridge Pose
This yoga pose, which involves bending over backwards and opening the chest, strengthens the back muscles, instantly releases tension in the back, stretches the chest, neck, and spine, calms the brain, lessens anxiety, stress, and sadness, opens the lungs, and helps with thyroid issues.
