Dussehra 2023: We have officially entered the festive season and the air is filled with positive vibes. The markets are all decked up, and preparations for the festive season are in full swing. Well, Dussehra 2023 will be celebrated on October 24th, the festival which marks the victory of good over evil. Dussehra or Vijayadashmi is one most important festivals of Hindus and it is celebrated with utmost zeal and pleasure all across the nation. On this day, Lord Rama killed the 10-headed demon Ravan and Maa Durga killed the demon Mahisasura. To celebrate the victory of good over evil, every year effigies of Ravan are burnt. However, have you ever thought of burning the Ravan within?
This year, you also make an effort to get rid of your bad habits for a fulfilling life. Leave all your negative traits behind and try to nurture Lord Rama’s good qualities to lead a successful and meaningful life. Without any further ado, let’s take a look at the bad qualities that you must get rid of this Dussehra.
Overthinking
Thinking before you act is the best practice but if you think too much on small things, it can leave you exhausted. Overthinking can make you sad about events or things that might not even exist. You must try to get rid of this by incorporating meditation into your daily routine or even you can try writing down your thoughts.
Ego
Your ego can kill relationships and friendships. Understand the difference between self-respect and ego. Apologise when you are wrong, sort out things with your loved ones and do not hold grudges. It will make your life easier and will help you make deeper connections with your people.
Stop Comparing And Be More Accepting
In the age of social media, we constantly keep comparing ourselves to others. But do you know constant comparison can trigger your insecurities? This Dussehra, burn the negative habit of comparing yourself. Be content with the things you have, and be more accepting of the pace of your life.
Fear Of Failure
A lot of times, we do not even try because of the fear of failure. Be it risking your job to work on your dreams to even speaking up for your rights. This Dussehra, you must burn the fear of failure and do things that matter without thinking much about the end result.
Anger
Last but not least, anger is one of the most common emotions that people feel in their day-to-day lives. It's okay to feel angry sometimes, however, if this emotion overpowers you every then and now, then it's important to work on it. An angry mind is a weak mind. Anger is a sign of loneliness and it eats you from within and can separate you from your loved ones.
Happy Dussehra to all of you! Do not forget to kill the Ravan within.
