THE SPECIAL occasion of Earth Day is observed every year on April 22 across the world. Also known as ‘International Mother Earth Day’, this special day focuses on raising awareness regarding the environmental factors that affect the planet and ways to protect it. Various countries come forward to take oaths to protect the environment and work towards a sustainable future on this day. The idea of celebrating Earth Day was suggested by John McConnell (peace activist) at the UNESCO conference in the year 1969. Later, International Earth Day was declared on 22nd April 1970. As this special day is just a few days away, we bring you some popular quotes by famous leaders to motivate you and be responsible towards the environment.
