JE Lifestyle Desk: Eid-ul-Adha, commonly known as Bakrid, is today, June 29, 2023. All over the world, people are celebrating this day. This Muslim festival is one of the most important in all Muslim communities, and it commemorates Abraham's determination to offer his son Ishmael as a sacrifice in accordance with God's commandment.

This feast marks the end of the yearly Hajj journey to Mecca's sacred city. Every Muslim in the country is preparing to celebrate one of the most important festivals with their friends and family. Banks will also be closed in several regions of the country on this day, according to the Reserve Bank of India.

These banks will be closed on June 28 in the following cities: Belapur, Jammu, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram. Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, and Srinagar are among the locations where banks will be closed on June 29.

What's more, on June 28, certain banks will observe a holiday and will operate as usual on Thursday, while those observing a holiday on June 29 will operate as usual on Wednesday. Online banking services will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, whether it is a bank holiday or not. The bank holiday was declared by the country's central bank under three acts: the Negotiable Instruments Act, the Negotiable Instruments Act, and the Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday and Closing of Accounts.
