Eid-Ul-Fitr 2023: The holy month of Ramadan is all set to culminate with the festivities of Eid-ul-Fitr across the world. Muslim people all around the globe are preparing to celebrate one of the biggest festivals of the Islamic calendar, Eid. The festive occasion of Eid commences when the 30-day period of Ramadan ends. Although, every year the date of Eid varies and depends largely on the moon sighting. Eid-Ul-Fitr 2023 is likely to be celebrated in India on April 22 (Saturday).

To celebrate the festival of Eid-Al-Fitr, Muslims worldwide offer their prayers to the Almighty, prepare delicacies, visit mosques, and greet one another by saying ‘Eid Mubarak' along with exchanging hugs, women apply mehendi and many more. Mosques In Delhi That Are A Must Visit On Eid 2023

1. Nizamuddin Dargah

Located in the West area of Delhi, Nizamuddin Dargah is one of the most popular mosques in Delhi which witnesses heavy crowds every day of the week. The site is also known for its evening qawwali devotional music sessions.

2. Fatehpuri Masjid

It is a 17th-century mosque located near the western end of Chandni Chowk. It stands opposite the Red Fort and is the mosque which was built by Fatehpuri Begum, one of Shah Jahan's wives, in 1650. It is known as one of the popular heritage websites of Delhi, which witnesses heavy crowds of tourists visiting this place on a regular basis.

3. Jama Masjid

The majority of us have visited Jama Masjid, which is known to be one of the liveliest and busiest places to visit in Delhi. It was regarded as a symbolic gesture of Islamic power across India, well into the colonial era. Muslims from all over the country visit Jama Masjid to offer their weekly prayers.

4. Khirki Masjid

Located in South Delhi, Khirki Masjid is a mosque built by Khan-i-Jahan Junan Shah, the prime minister of Feroz Shah Tughlaq of the Tughlaq Dynasty. It is a beautiful mosque built with rubble stone, thickly plastered and double-storeyed. The Khirki Masjid is a quadrangular-shaped mosque that is divided into two parts with each of the parts having its own courtyard.

5. Qila-I-Kuhna

It is the mosque located inside the premises of Purana Qila in Delhi. It was built by Sher Shah Suri, after he defeated Humayun, thereafter the mosque became a "symbol of his royal aspiration".

6. Jamali Kamali Mosque And Tomb

Located in the Archaeological Village complex in Mehrauli, Delhi, the Jamali Kamali Mosque and Tomb comprises two monuments adjacent to one another, the mosque and the tomb. The mosque was built between 1528 and 1536 by Shaikh Fazl al-Allah, who was also known as Jalal Khan Jalali or Jamali.
