The Eiffel Tower was criticized by 300 academics and artists in its day, who dubbed it "monstrous" and likened it to a "gigantic black factory chimney."

The total visiting capacity of the Eiffel Tower, despite its grandeur, is 5,000, split into three levels: the largest can seat 3,000 people, while the smaller top level can only house 400 people.
