Holi, the festival of colours, is the most vibrant festival of India. Celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm across India, Holi 2025 is today, that is, March 14. The festival involves playing with colours, smearing gulal, splashing water and throwing balloons at each other. From songs and dance to food and colours, everything is fair when it comes to Holi. The common phrase, “Bura na mano Holi hai,” resonates with the essence of playing Holi. Oftentimes, it has happened that after playing Holi for the whole day, people feel tired, sluggish and exhausted. Following some tips, you can cope with the Holi exhaustion.
There are several reasons why fatigue or exhaustion happens after the Holi celebration. The festive fatigue seems to affect both physical and mental health. The reasons for exhaustion include dehydration, lethargy, overeating, and tiredness after a long day of dancing and playing with colours and water. Usually, when one indulges in Holi activities too much under the sun for a long period of time, it leads to weariness and dehydration. There are several tips that help cope and recover from Holi exhaustion and fatigue.
Ways To Recover From Holi Fatigue
Hydration
Make sure to hydrate yourself by drinking enough water to flush out the toxins from the system. Avoid drinking coffee or tea as it can give you an upset stomach, owing to dehydration. Besides, those who have consumed alcohol or bhang during the Holi celebration can consume lemon water to rehydrate or even buttermilk for a soothing stomach.
Healthy Breakfast
Waking up with an empty stomach next morning after a hangover can make you feel nauseated. It is always advisable to consume a healthy breakfast that is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to boost your energy levels. You can include foods like legumes, seeds, nuts, yoghurt, dates, or oats. They are high in protein, copper fibre, iron, vitamins, and all the other energy-production nutrients that will beat your lethargy and improve your overall health.
Consume Fruits And Veggies
If it is beneficial to eat a lot of fruits like watermelon, banana, apple or oranges and vegetables like spinach, broccoli, and beetroot the following day after the Holi celebration as they are rich in Vitamin C, fibre, and antioxidants, which help counter in intoxication and improving the immune system as well.

Sleep Well
While enjoying fun during Holi, the energy level of the body falls owing to staying under the sun for so long and also from dehydration caused by alcohol and bhang consumption. A sufficient good night's sleep can help you recover from fatigue and boost energy levels. Give your body and mind rest.
Warm Shower
Taking a warm shower helps rejuvenate yourself the next day after the Holi celebration exhaustion. Moreover, taking it before going to bed can help improve your sleep.
